Hello Coyote Creek Families!
We are looking forward to the onset of our Heritage Week next week! February 7-11 will provide us with a great opportunity to celebrate the multicultural heritage of our students. We are looking forward to a week full of excitement and engagement around the celebration of our multicultural identities. We will be sending home a crest for students to complete and send back to school that will be on display around our gym walls. We will also be welcoming Shyama-Priya to share indigenous dance with our students. Please see a full week plan below of how our school will be honouring Heritage Week.
Heritage Week
Here is what we have looking ahead to for Heritage Week February 7-11:
Monday, February 7 – Shyama-Priya arrives to teach indigenous dance in the gym to classes
Tuesday, February 8 – Shyama-Priya continues
Artifact Day – Students can bring in a cultural artifact to share with the class
Wednesday, February 9 – Shyama-Priya’s last day
Multicultural Dress Day – Students wear cultural dress or colours that represent their country’s flag
Thursday, February 10 – Student Crests up in the gym along the wall
Friday, February 11 – Focus on Lunar New Year stories and fortune cookie delivery for students

Parking Lot Safety
We want to ensure the safety of our Coyote Creek families during busy times at arrival and dismissal. Please note that our parking lot is for staff only. As the weather improves and winter softens into spring, we hope that many of our families will take advantage of the good weather and walk or bike to school.
Pink Shirt Day
If you are intersted in ordering a Pink Shirt for Pink Shirt Day on February 23, Coyote Creek Elementary is providing an ordering option using Beyond Mars. Please use the blue link below to process your online order. Only online orders will be accepted.
