Hello Coyote Creek Families!
We have enjoyed the past two days of sun after a very snowy and rainy January start-up! Classes are back in session and staff and students alike are enjoying the return to new wonders and experiences within the school setting. We have been pleased to see how well students are responding to our new staggered break schedules and impressed with how our students follow the mask-wearing guidelines to keep all of our Coyote Creek community safe. Thank you to our families for all you do in maintaining the health of our school community.
News from our PAC
We have a virtual PAC meeting coming up Tuesday, January 18th at 9:00 via Zoom. The Zoom link will be sent out through MyEd following this posting.

West Coast Weather
Please remember as the weather constantly changes, we will have a “West Coast Recess and Lunch.” Students need an active break from the classroom environment and will be expected to be outside at recess and lunch. Of course, consideration will be given to very heavy rain and extreme weather conditions. Please ensure that your child is prepared for the possibility of inclement weather and an outside recess and lunch. This means, students come to school wearing a proper jacket and proper footwear. Umbrellas and boots are always a great idea on those wet West Coast days. Students may also appreciate having an extra pair of dry clothes available at school.
Phoning in Absence or Late Arrival
If your child is going to be absent or late for any reason, please remember to contact the school at 604-597-0858 or at email@example.com by 9:00am if possible. Thank you!
Health and Safety Updates
Here are some important points to note:
- Students in Grades K to 7 are required to wear masks while in the building (except for when actively eating or drinking).
- All staff and visitors will be required to wear masks (a medical exemption may exist).
- Families are asked to complete the daily health check before sending their child(ren) to school.
- Parents who are wishing to speak to teachers at the classroom doors, please wear your mask to protect the students and staff within our school community.
- No spectators are currently allowed at sports games.
Very importantly, please keep all children home who are sick. We do have immunocompromised staff/students within our school community, so please continue to be diligent. Thank you!
Daily Health Checks
The Ministry of Education has worked with Public Health and the BCCDC to create a daily health check website and mobile app for students and their parents to complete before heading to school in the morning. The website and app will contain the most up-to-date BC health guideline information.
