Coming up next week: November 1-5

Happy Halloween everyone! We hope you have a safe and happy evening on Halloween. Today, our students had a great deal of fun carving, dancing in the gym and learning.

On Monday a group of leadership teachers and students put on a great pumpkin patch event for our Kindergarten students. Our students were able to come into the giant pumpkin patch, pick a pumpkin, and play some games and take some pictures. Our leadership students were great role models to our little ones and everyone had a great deal of fun!

Some of our primary students have been busy planting bulbs all over our school grounds and flower beds so we will have many flowers to enjoy in the spring. Well done garden committee!

Hot Lunch:

Look for an email this week letting you know that you can now put in your hot lunch orders. Deadlines are different for each order.

In order to order, go to http://coyotecreekpac.hotlunches.net, log in, go to profile, and manage students. You will see all offerings there. Each child needs to have a separate order.

The Great Coyote Creek Car Challenge: It was an exciting week running car challenge races. The competition was fierce and Thursday we determined our Primary and Intermediate Champions. Congratulations to Anjali in grade 1 and Yuvi in grade 7!

Yuvi and Anjali then competed against one another to determine the Coyote Creek Elementary Grand Champion! It was a very exciting series of races. Yuvi would win one, then Anjali would win one! We had to go to extra rounds to determine the Coyote Creek Elementary Car Challenge Grand Champion. Congratulations to Anjali who came away with the win. All of our competitors displayed excellent sportsmanship skills.

All of our students worked hard on these ADST (Applied Design, Skills and Technology) projects. The process of coming up with a design, building the car, trial runs and redesign are not without challenges. Students at times experience frustration and have to work through many problem solving scenarios as they troubleshoot and redesign their cars with the support of their teachers. This is all an important part of the process. It was an exciting event, especially to see our students so engaged in the races.
