Coming up next week: June 14-18

Look what our students grew in our new garden boxes!

The Thank you Project:

Thank you all our parents and students for supporting our surprise “Thank you” project. Please keep your emails coming to! We hope to have them all in by June 16th.

This year we are offering something new. You can now order your child’s school supplies for next year directly through EduPac. The pricing is competitive, it saves you from looking for all those hard to find items, and your child’s package is delivered directly to school.

Please see the EduPac order that was emailed to you. Students also took a notice home last week. Parents of grades 1-7 students can always choose to purchase these items themselves using the list provided. Kindergarten students do not pre-purchase supplies. There is a supply fee that will be collected in September.

If you are interested in ordering through EduPac, the deadline is June 18th.

Student Safety Reminders:

During this time of year with the much better weather we have a number of students walking and riding bikes to school. It is critical we follow all parking and road rules to keep our students safe. Please:

  • walk or bike to school during good weather to lessen pickup and drop off congestion
  • do not park or even wait in areas where there are bike lanes
  • do not drop off or pick up in the staff parking lot (many families walk through these areas and buses/staff need access)
  • be respectful of our neighbours and do not block driveways
  • consider an alternate drop off/pickup spot such as behind the school in the neighbourhood, or a short distance away from the school

Please be sure to return your library books in the next two weeks. We have a drop off box OUTSIDE the front doors of the school between 8:00am and 3:00 pm each day or send them along with your child to return them directly to the library.

As Pokeman cards become more popular this time of year, it is a reminder that all students should keep their cards at home. When Pokeman cards are brought to school, unfair trades and lost cards have attributed to many unhappy participants. In addition, the practice of negotiating trades has children clustering in close proximity and handling the same items. During the pandemic, we must continue to be vigilant with our distancing practices, even outside. Thank you for your support.
