Coming up next week: Nov. 23-27

Early Dismissal Day:

A reminder that this Friday is an early dismissal day at 1:30 pm.

Coyote Creek sent home Spirit Wear order information today. Orders must be in to SchoolCashOnline by no later than Nov. 26th at 3:00 p.m. Due to tight timelines, late orders cannot be accepted.

Reporting your child’s absence:

If your child is going to be absent for the day, or part of the day, please be sure to contact our office directly by phone and feel free to leave a message if outside of office hours. Please do not only inform the teacher as we do not always get the student information before calls are made home. Thank you for your help with this.

Canada-a-thon:

For the last few days leading up to our Canadathon quiz day on Nov. 25th, we encourage students to study for their Canada quiz and to solicit pledges from friends and family. It is helpful once pledges have been collected, if a family member can deposit the entire amount through the Hot Lunch PAC website. If you have questions, please contact the PAC at coyotecreekpac36@gmail.com.

PAC Fundraisers:

Cookies, Cheesecake and Chocolates! Order forms went home with students last week and were sent via email for our blended students. Thank you for supporting our school initiatives. Our PAC is instrumental in raising funds to support our school. These include: classroom teacher funds (to purchase supplies, incentives- all the little things not within a normal school budget), field trips, school performances, sports equipment, playgrounds, and technology. We could not do many of these things if it were not for the support of our parent community. Thank you everyone! Deadline for orders is Tuesday, Nov. 24th.

Health and Safety Protocols:

As we head into colder weather and flu season along with the increase in our COVID numbers, could you please take a few moments to talk to your child about the importance of ‘keeping everyone safe’.

Please have a conversation with your child about the importance of hand washing for 20 seconds (regularily) and how best to do so. Also discuss the importance of wearing a mask, not only to protect themselves but others as well, as we try to keep everyone healthy heading into the holiday season. It would also be a good idea to pack an ‘extra mask’ in your child’s backpack.

We will continue to discuss these issues in class and encourage mask wearing when students are in close contact.

Distancing for parents is critical at pick up and drop off. We very much encourage mask usage and distancing.

Grade 6 School Immunizations for the 2020/21 School Year:

As per Fraser Health:

“Public Health will commence the School Immunization Program for this year’s Grade 6 and 9 students in January 2021. Public Health will also provide catch-up immunizations to students who did not complete their immunizations last school year or over the summer.

If you or your staff have questions, please contact your local public health unit at 604-587-4750.
