Week of Sept. 8-11

Dear Parents and Guardians:

We are currently well underway with our planning and preparations for a new school year. This year will look differently. Please see below for some key dates and information about the first week of school.

Students are not in attendance Sept. 8th and 9th. Teachers and staff will be undergoing health and safety training.

Thursday and Friday, Sept.10 and 11th – Coyote Creek First Day Procedures

Grade 1-4 students in attendance from 9:00-10:00am.

You will receive a very important email by 12:00 pm on Wednesday, Sept. 9th from the school with the following information:

  1. Information regarding the classroom your child will be in for the 10th and 11th. This is not their permanent learning group. This is a group of no more than 10 students. Students will be participating in reviewing safety protocols for this school year.
  2. A map identifying the location of your child’s group room. It is important that all people on site remain distanced from each other (2 metres) at all times. Only students will be allowed to enter the classroom.
  3. Important safety protocols that must be followed by parents and students.

Grade 5-7 students in attendance from 11:00am -12:00pm.

Kindergarten students in attendance on either the 10th or 11th from 12:30 pm -1:30pm depending on their group.

Kindergarten parents were already sent an email with group information for their child and their schedule. If you have not received this, please call (604)597-0858.

New students who have a confirmed registration please go directly to your assigned classroom.

New students, not yet registered, or with unconfirmed registrations, please go directly to the tent set up near the front doors of the school for information.

Looking Ahead: Sept.14 and beyond

For students who are attending full time, face to face instruction, students will be in school regular hours starting Monday, Sept.14. Our school day starts at 8:30 am and ends at 2:30 pm.

It is important that students are dropped off as close to the start of day as possible and picked up immediately after school, to reduce the number of students gathering on the school grounds. Students who walk home, will need to leave the grounds immediately.

Students will need to bring the few supplies requested by teachers on Friday, a snack and their lunch. For health reasons, students will not be able to accept any dropped off items, including lunches. Please be sure to send your child to school with everything they may need.

As of the 14th, students will be in their permanent learning group. You will receive an email with this information at the end of the day on Friday, Sept. 11.

New Kindergarten students have their own gradual entry schedules sent to you earlier this week.

If you are not returning to school full-time, please be sure to review your option of the Blended Transition program at https://www.coyotecreeklearns.com/. The deadline for this option is Sept. 8th at 4:00 pm.

More information will be sent out about the return to school in the coming days. We look forward to welcoming students and families back to Coyote Creek.

Sincerely,

Jennifer Jock     Brenda Keller
